The role of women in the clean energy transition

The paper presents a new Technology Collaboration Program (TCP) on the role that women can play in the energy transition, named Clean Energy Education and Empowerment (C3E TCP). Launched by Canada, Sweden and Italy, the initiative is under the International Energy Agency (IEA) legal framework. The background, the rationale for creating an IEA TCP as well as the program of work will be described

The Clean Energy Education and Empowerment (C3I) initiative was launched at the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) in 2010. The 24 countries and the European Commission, that are CEM members, account for about 90% of the global energy investments and 75% of the global greenhouse emissions. Current CEM members are Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, the European Commission, Finland, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Norway, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States. Since 2016, the CEM Secretariat is hosted by the IEA in Paris. …
